We all know that a wedding can be a huge investment. One has to book a venue, hire a floweriest, and research party bus company and rent cheap party limos, charter buses or a party bus for the guests, pick a DJ, and much more.
According to recent statistics, an average wedding in America costs anywhere from $30,000 to $60,000 depending on how simple or extravagant one wishes to be. But the couple and their families aren’t the only ones who have to spend hundreds of dollars on the wedding. People who are attending it also have to –especially if they are a close friend of the bride or the groom.
How Much Are They Really Spending?
To determine how much today’s generation is spending on weddings, Priceline.com conducted a survey involving a 1000+ millennials aged 21 or more. The data showed that on an average, an individual attending the wedding spends $600+ on wedding-related events like the bachelor/bachelorette, bridal shower, engagement lunches, gifts and dresses etc. Some even have to pay for their rides in case the couple hasn’t arranged for any party limo rental. This is one reason why many of them don’t like attending weddings – because they can’t keep shelling out money.
Why Do They Do What They Do?
One may wonder what makes them do it. Thankfully, the research even collected data on that.
To them, it is an excuse to travel:
Almost half of the sample surveyed was okay with the expenses, especially if it were a destination wedding. 47% of them said that the wedding season provided them an excuse to travel and leave their work and responsibilities behind for some time. This is why it is important to get a party limo rental which allows you to relax and enjoy properly.
They want to spend some quality time with the couple:
46% of them said that weddings allowed them a chance to spend some quality time together with the couple and wish them all the best for their wedding.
